Hello Students! Here are some important announcements/goings on at Hudson that are still going on throughout the lockdown/work from home portion of the year (however long that may be!):
From Mr. Leiss:
Registration is now open for the University of Waterloo Math contests. These contests are a great way to challenge and enrich your learning of mathematics and help with university applications. The deadline to register for the grade 9, 10, and 11 contest is next Tuesday (Feb 2nd). Please contact Mr. Leiss (email@example.com) to confirm your registration. The grade 9, 10, 11 contest is Feb 23rd 2021. The grade 12 contest takes place in early April.
From Mr. Migz:
Hudson College high school division will present our annual science fair virtually on Friday February 26th, 2021. More details to follow!
From Mr. Winter:
Clubs are still happening!
Dungeons and Dragons is still happening every Tuesday at 12:00PM on the Google Classroom. Come join the epic questing!
Love Against Hate (also Ms. Brunet, Ms. Gilbreath, Ms. Wise) is still meeting every Thursday at 12:15 on Google Classroom! Please join us as we prepare for several initiatives surrounding Black History Month for February!
The Husky Herald (very meta – writing about the Herald in the Herald!) has its weekly meeting every Friday at 12:15! We are always looking for new submissions and new writers so don’t be shy and stop on by!
From Ms. Wise:
The Duke of Ed Award program encourages students to participate in school beyond the academics. It emphasizes well-roundedness in the high school experience. Several Hudson students are currently working towards their Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. If you are interested in learning more about the program, please email Ms. Wise at firstname.lastname@example.org
From Mr. Yovanny:
As we continue with online learning in the second semester, I would like to announce the start of a new virtual club – Hudson’s Culture Club. This club will focus on learning about different cultures from around the world. We will discuss the customs, traditions, food, religion, music, literature, and dance of a wide range of cultures. This will be a great opportunity for all those students who are interested in learning about the events and rituals that are part of a culture and at the same time remind ourselves that there is more that unites us than separates us. Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, February 2nd at 12:00 PM. If you are interested in joining this club, please send me an email (email@example.com) so that I can send you an invitation for our first meeting. Hoping to hear back from many of you soon.
