Synopsis: Jujutsu Kaisen follows high school student Yuji Itadori after he becomes a host for a part of the greatest curse, Ryomen Sukuna. Yuji is able to contain Ryomen Sukuna, but the curse is considered too dangerous. They decide to keep him at a high school designed for Jujutsu Sorcerers until Yuji is able to fully host the curse, and then get rid of him.

Personal Review: This anime was fully released quite recently, and has an interesting yet simple plot that is not too hard to follow. Yuji is a great main character with simple ideals: he wants people to have normal deaths, as theirs is a world filled with curses. He also has an interesting and diverse supporting cast. If you like action/battles, this is definitely the anime for you. This anime thrives on its action, and studio Mappa does not disappoint. Every fight is beautifully animated, and very well choreographed. I recommend giving the first few episodes a try because that will set the premise for what the rest of the show is like.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Synopsis: Tanjiro Kamado, a boy who has become a part of the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his demonic sister back into a human, takes his next step. Aboard a train, people have been going missing, as have several Demon Slayer Corps members. A demon is suspected of residing on the train, so Tanjiro joins the Flame Hashira, one of the top fighters in the Demon Slayer Corps, to search for this demon so that they can kill it and free the train and the people using it of its curse.

Personal Review: Demon Slayer is very similar to Jujutsu Kaisen, which is why I decided to put them in the same review. The plot is simple, the characters are nice, and the action is top notch. Tanjiro is a kind soul and he can’t help but be kind, even to the demons, but this does not stop him from killing them. He has a goal, and he is doing his best to reach it. During this movie, his kindness even managed to affect one of the people that are considered antagonists. His supporting cast is interesting, and there are fights like the one with the Flame Hashira that show that the main character isn’t the most powerful person in the world, overall making it a very enjoyable show. This was also animated by Ufotable, my favorite animation studio, and every single fight is unbelievably well animated and exciting to watch. If you are hesitating because you haven’t watched the show, start it now: you will not be disappointed.
